American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA)

American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA)

Founded in 1931, the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) is the professional association representing nearly 54,000 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs) nationwide. The AANA is committed to the personal and professional well-being of all CRNAs and SRNAs. Since 1983, we proactively provide substance use disorder (SUD) peer support, education for prevention and early recognition, and workplace resources. AANA has developed evidence-based policy considerations for anesthesia professionals to facilitate safe intervention, appropriate reporting, and addiction treatment and support their long-term recovery and appropriate re-entry. Unique and lifesaving AANA programs include a live 24/7 Helpline and list of approved treatment programs, vetted against established criteria. The AANA is an IntNSA institutional member.

The School of Health and Education offers exciting and wide-ranging undergraduate and postgraduate courses in education and teaching, health and social work based on foundations of excellent scholarship, research and practice-based learning.

Working in partnership is fundamental to everything that we do in the School of Health and Education; we could not achieve the things we do if we worked in isolation. Our aim is to support our students, staff and partners to achieve their full potential and, in so doing, make a difference in the world.

We take an innovative approach to developing highly-skilled professionals able to transform people’s lives through their work in education, interpreting and translation, nursing, midwifery, mental health, social work and integrative medicine. Partnering with a variety of schools, education settings, charitable, private and public sector organisations, we have a history of pioneering excellence that is recognised worldwide.
